I personally havn't done it but it was mentioned on another board that it has been done using a dremel and a far amount of patience

I don't think so because air intake and jet needle and prehaps carburators are differents on those two differents models.

Well....I've now stripped the cylinders/pistons out and I'm on 71mm and I could throw the pistons back in from 20 yards! :cry:

Checked the clearance between piston and cylinder without rings and I can get 0.016" feeler down

should only get 0.006" plus the bore is slightly scored and the piston is too. Not checked the other but doesn't seem any point.

Anyone know where Cylinders/pistons can be got? Everywhere I've looked has only +1.0mm pistons but no barrels.

The clearance ( play ? ) -distance beetwin piston and cylinder- on a new piston must be 0.06mm (or a little less)=>0.025" ,so , when there is 0.05" your motor become to be tired and at 0.06" your piston is ready to scratch.
IDU +1.0piston but no barrels. :oops:

You have your numbers wrong there! clearance should be no more than 0.006" between piston and cylinder wall (0.15mm).

I think YOU are wrong
1" = 2.54cm
0.15/2.54 = 0.06" and not 0.006" ... it isn't ?
If some where people don't undertand (or if I am wrong) clearance good for T500 is from 0.055mm new to 0.15mm practicaly dead

I am wrong...
1" = 2.54cm = 25.4mm
0.15mm/25.4 = 0.006"

I plan on grinding the web out and matching the ports too.
Made patterns of each cylinder and will take it steady

I would suggest looking at the ex port too as the timing is different between early T and GT

Re your earlier post, can,t find pistons over 1mm.

I stock up to 2mm o/s, I have barrels and I rebore in house
