An area of great beauty from ancient river
valleys to spectacular coasts. From gruesome Dutch shipwrecks to fossil
footprints. The Geraldton area deserves a thorough exploration - with historic
Northampton to the North and the National trust hamlet of Greenough to the
South. Inland at Mingenew, Mullewa and Yalgoo are old buildings and remote
reserves. Kalbarri is the scene of the ancient Murchison River Gorge with
excellent coastal clifftop scenery. Port Gregory, Horrock's Beach and Dongara
are quiet fishing spots with lovely beaches to relax upon. The Maritime Museum
at Geraldton is a must with it's artefacts from the Dutch era.
