Model 25 250cc Panther
VILLIERS MODEL 25
A unique feature of this model is the forged steel backbone. Designed in 1927 for the lightweight Panther model this type of frame eliminates all lugs and brazed joints and gives immense strength. The very full equipment is as follows:--
TWIST GRIP THROTTLE, AIR FILTER, STEERING DAMPER, FOUR POINT HAND ADJUSTABLE SHOCK ABSORBERS, TWO TOOL BAGS, CARRIER, KNEE GRIPS, COMPLETE FRONT CHAIN COVER, VALANCED FRONT MUDGUARD, VILLIERS DIRECT LIGHTING WITH 6" HEAD LAMP AND PARKING LIGHT ALSO REAR LAMP BULB HORN, LICENSE HOLDER, NUMBER PLATES, TOOL ROLL AND TOOLS, GREASE GUN AND TYRE INFLATOR.
ENGINE.--Villiers 247 c.c. Bore 65m.m. Stroke 70m.m. The well-known Villiers fly-wheel magneto is fitted which also forms the source of supply for the 6" lighting set. GEAR BOX.--Sturmey Archer three speed. Bottom fixing. Ratios 5, 8 and a half and 16 to 1. Gate control. SPRING FORKS.--Special Brampton fitted with four point shock absorbers hand adjusted by single wing nut.
TANK.--Handsome fully rounded 2~ gallon tank. A separate oil tank which carries 3 pints of oil is fitted with the Villiers automatic pump This tank is fitted with an adjustable auxiliary oil feed to the primary chain.
BRAKES.-8" back, 5" front. Hand adjustment to both brakes.
WHEELS. Wired-on 26 by 3" Dunlop Cord tyres.
STAND.-P. C M. central spring up stand.
FOOTRESTS.--Fitted with large rubber pads and fully adjustable.
HANDLEBARS.-Of pleasing design fitted with long twist grip control and fully adjustable for height and angle.
SADDLE.--Lycett Aero or Terry de luxe bolted direct to frame.
PETROL CONSUMPTION.--100 m.p.g.
