Straightened rods are a bit of a worry, but auto rods are done regularly so maybe that's ok. As far as the crank end goes a new snout could be made and the old one cut off and bored to accept the replacement which would be pressed in and maybe tack welded for good measure. Atlantic Pirate had a used crank with a bad rod. If you could get another unit make one out of two. Good luck,Guzzi John
