Yes, the "other" colour for the 74 GT550 was a stunning red (marble scarlet - colour #293, otherwise known as laredo red) with tasteful metallic gold stripes. The bike was incredible to see in the flesh. We had 3 or 4 sold through our shop and 2 guys I knew bought them. Real head turners...the bikes, not the guys. LOLOLOL The "primary" colour was a less than popular Hawaii green, colour #215, again with gold stripes. I thought the green was kind of putrid, even for the Japanese. I guess they were in the process of buying Hawaii at the time so wanted to comemorate their final conquest of Pearl Harbour and the Islands. LOLOLOL
I didn't like red bikes at that time but that colour really got to me and I've liked most red bikes ever since. Truth is stranger than fiction for sure.
Yes, as far as I can remember, one tank fits both bikes. Unfortunately for the 550 riders, the tank's fuel capacity was suited to the 380. My cherry 550 will only go about 85 miles or so before it hits reserve. I would think the 380 would PROBABLY go about 120 miles or so on the same fuel, which is more reasonable. Mind you, the horse-pi$$ they sell for gasoline these days probably is a major factor in my poor fuel mileage......as well as my right wrist. LOLOL
I'm STILL trying to figure out how to get a later Buffalo tank to fit on my 550. LOLOLOLOL
