The German made Windhoff of 1927
was an innovative machine.
With an oil-cooled 4 cylinder engine which also acted as a load bearing element, instead
of a frame, the Windhoff introduced features common on many modern machines.
In addition the cylinder head supported the tank, seat and the front fork. The Windhoff had a dry multiplate
clutch, unit gearbox, front wheel brake and a rear brake which acted on the shaft drive. The front suspension
had leaf springs and shock absorbtion.
