" 'Will some kind hand in that far off land place on his grave a flower for me'"
On the tombstone of Sgt W. Watson 24 Bn AIF at Bellicourt British Cemetery in France.
Died 5 Oct 1918 (the last real day of action for the AIF troops)

The Australian War Memorial (AWM) runs a tour to the Western Front each year as a follow-up tour to the AWM's Gallipoli and Dawn Service tour. The tour visits each of the 5 Australian Divisional monuments as well as significant battlefields where the Australians and New Zealanders fought in France and Belgium. Visits are also made to Vimy Ridge and the Normandy invasion beaches.
The videos on this site capture the sites visited during the Australian War Memorial's conducted tour of the Western Front in April-May 2007.

Sad to advise that tour member Bob Smith passed away on 15 September 2007.
Our sympathy to Di at this sad loss. Bob was a gentle soul and a nice bloke. Sadly missed.
Rest in peace Bob
